Experience

Bafarat has bought in a well-known chef named Thomas Alphonsine to take charge of their patisserie section. Thomas welcomed each individual attending with a nice personal message on Instagram. I thought this was a nice touch, which not many do before an event. He guided us and explained how to eat tree chocolate tree as well as what each dessert was called.

As I entered the building, I was shown around the space and was greeted by other bloggers. Those who were also invited to this taster session. At the front of this store, you see plenty of colourful desserts displayed, which looked stunning. The settings inside where you dine are pretty Instagrammable with pastel colours.

Afternoon Tea

Before indulging in our amazing afternoon tea experience, we were given their menu to have any drinks we liked. Some people opted for matcha lattes, others coffee and tea. However, I went for an iced latte as I was feeling warm over the weekend, heatwave seems to have snuck back in for a late summer's here in London. As myself and a few others arrived slightly early, we had the first dibs at what table we would like to sit at and take photos. I thought this spot we chose couldn't have been a better spot than the round table as the other spots were small tables for couples.

After having a discussion with other bloggers and taking some photos of the table setting. More people started to arrive and took a seat. Therefore chocolate afternoon tea was ready to be paparazzi by all of us. As you can see from their menu, it shows you a list of each item from sweets to savouries as well as their pricing.

Having the afternoon tea on its own plus a drink cost £25. If you add the chocolate tree, it's an additional £8. Compared to other afternoon tea places, I thought it was a pretty good price for what you get.

As you can see above, you have a selection of three savouries and plenty of delicious patisseries.

Here is the outcome of the full four sets of afternoon tea treats on our table, including the tree. The treats were placed on a branch made out of chocolate. Can you believe that? All of us dining were quite shocked that the branches and trees themselves were edible. I liked the fact the display had a nice moon-shaped area around the tree, to hold the pretty impressive patisserie.

Conclusion

Overall, from start to finish I had such a fun experience. Something I enjoyed attending after such a while waiting for the lockdown to re-open. To be honest, this was the first in-person event I've been to ever since March, to see and network with people again was amazing. The afternoon tea was filled with so many luxury treats. I just couldn't help myself but capture as many good photos as possible. Chef Thomas looked after us all during the afternoon, provided us with great service and showed us everything, which was nice.

The price here is reasonable £25 for afternoon tea, with an additional £8 for the chocolate tree, making it £32 for those couples, families or friends wanting to try this out. I would recommend spending an hour or so to check it out. The presentation of the afternoon tea snacks was outstanding. I couldn't contain my excitement about when to eat and what angle would be best to shoot an incredibly looking chocolate tree.

I had so many personal favourites treats, but having to pick one would be the mango and passion-fruit cheesecake that looked so nice and colourful, yet it tasted so good.
