Pancake Day!

Pancake Day!

Pancake Day

People up and down the country have stocked up on lots of chocolates, bananas, lemons and sugar for Pancake Day 2018.

Foodies and people love it when a national day arrives. As this includes all kinds of food and gives us any excuses to celebrate a specific food. Now that Pancake Day has arrived, I’m sure plenty of you people will be searching for places to visit and have those mouth-watering pancakes around London.

Instead of going out this time, I thought I would be little creative by making my very own homemade pancake with a few extra toppings of my own. I hope you like it ๐Ÿ™‚

Homemade Pancakes filled with syrup, banana and blackcurrant

Want to try to make your very own pancakes. Maybe give this simple step by step recipe a try to see how your pancakes turn out! or perhaps share one of your favourite recipes ๐Ÿ™‚

Recipe

  • 125g plain flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons caster sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 235ml milk
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  1. In a large bowl, mix flour, sugar, baking powder and salt. Make a well in the center, then pour in milk, egg and oil. Keep mixing until it’s all smooth.
  2. Heat a lightly oiled frying pan over medium-high heat. Pour or scoop the batter into the frying pan, using about 60ml for each pancake. Once it’s starting to turn brown on both sides, that should be your pancake ready to serve and eat.

However, for those who are looking to go out instead, I’ve listed some of the cafes and restaurants around London, where you could perhaps try out for yourself. Not only for pancake day, but a casual breakfast or afternoon snack would work too if you’re not feeling of making your very own pancakes at home.
