How have three years passed by? It's been a long while since I last visited this spot. The last time I came to Sky Garden was on my birthday in 2017 as a treat for myself, something I've had planned on my bucket list for a while.

This time around, I visited this place with my Mrs. as we both visited and experienced it after the first lockdown was over. Everything seemed like it was going back to normal in September. Before COVID cases start to rise again towards the end of Sept/Oct. This means we're now back in Lockdown 2.0 till the 2nd of December. This meant my birthday is in lockdown as well, which falls on 1st December, not much to celebrate until everything opens up.

First of all, it's a free experience but you have to book in advance online, as they tend to be booked very quickly. Therefore, I booked a reservation to explore Sky Garden the week before my birthday to experience it, for the first time on my birthday and it was such a nice treat. The Sky gardens are view-able from the 35th floor on top of the Walkie Talkie tall building you walk by.

During my visit here a few months ago in 2020, I had to book 2 weeks in advance as the booking slots are pretty limited right now due to COVID-19, however, you can keep a lookout for each day to see if there are any cancellations if you prefer to go earlier.

Experience

When you enter, you will notice a café filled with breakfast and snacks on your left and people sitting around the lounge. There are plenty of treats to choose from on their menu and table. Also, if you walk further ahead, there is a balcony with an amazing 360-degree view of many famous London landmarks you can potentially spot such as Shard, London Eye etc. If you're feeling peckish or in the mood for a fancy meal. There is a restaurant upstairs serving some delicious desserts and food if you go a level up to around the garden.

The Sky Garden is filled with lots of wonderful green plants, definitely an inspiration for your own homes and gardens. Each plant has a plaque placed, which describes each one of them. If you're planning to meet with friends or for a catch-up it's ideal and a great place to experience.

This time I saw DJ's playing music for the audience to hear whilst they explored and managed to get some nice sunset shots as well daylight views as we visited in the middle of the day and stayed for an hour or so.

Conclusion

This attraction was a surreal experience and one I highly recommend adding to your bucket list to check out, as the views from here are amazing and so is the garden. You can potentially get tons of content from this place if you're ever looking for new ideas. However, with the restrictions now in place, you do have to wear a face mask around the area. Worth it, when you have such a view to admire and enjoy around.

At present, this attraction is closed due to lockdown but should be back to normal once everything is lifted from the 2nd of December.

Having read this I thought it was extremely informative. I appreciate you finding the time and energy to put this information together. I once again find myself spending a significant amount of time both reading and commenting. But so what, it was still worthwhile!
