Desert Rose Restaurant
Address: Abdullah Bin Jassim St, Doha, Qatar
Desert Rose Restaurant is in the middle of Souq Waqif and offers a beautiful view of the bustling city of Doha, including the famous Fanar Mosque. The European-inspired decor and neutral colours make the place feel warm and inviting, whether you're sitting inside or outside. This place had a perfect setting for a relaxed breakfast with affordable prices.
This restaurant is located in the centre of Souq Waqif, one of Doha's most famous tourist spots. The restaurant combines contemporary comfort with classic charm with its sophisticated European-inspired décor and comfortable seating. The atmosphere creates the ideal setting for a leisurely breakfast, whether you select a table inside or on the terrace with a view of the bustling centre.
Experience
Morning breakfast at this restaurant was on my list of places to visit in Doha. As we decided to visit on a weekday, it was pretty much empty. We had a choice to sit either outdoors or indoors with plenty of different places to sit. We opted to sit indoors instead to view the traditional European interiors. As we decided on the menu, we opted for two items shown below, but no drinks, as they didn't have karak chai. We decided just to order food and have tea on the way out from the market, etc. They had charging ports next to the table, so if you need to recharge your phone, you can do so.
Also, to order your food, they provide a tablet to view the menu, then tell the staff what you want. The waiting time wasn't too bad, as I took that time to take pictures and videos of the decor around the restaurant. We didn't spend too long, as we wanted to start exploring other places, but our time here was nice, as we got what we wanted, and the prices were reasonable as well.

Menu
The combination of Arabic, Ukrainian, and international cuisines sets Desert Rose apart. The breakfast buffet offers everything from substantial European favourites to traditional Arabic delicacies to suit every palate.
What we ordered:
- Shakshuka (25 QR)
- English Breakfast (50 QR)

Shakshuka
A fresh, farm-to-table Mediterranean dish featuring poached eggs in a savoury, chunky tomato & red pepper sauce, spiced and served with feta cheese, olives, and bread for dipping. This was piping hot but nice and soft to dip into with the naan bread. The feta cheese I found was chewy. This came to around £5, which was a pretty good price for the meal.

English Breakfast
A hearty, traditional spread with items like sausages, onions, eggs, baked beans, tomatoes, mushrooms, and toast. This was perfectly filling, as you had a range of breakfast items in one huge tray. As you have the choice of runny or scrambled egg, which I went for runny, you also have 4 pieces of toast, as well as sausages, chopped onions, potatoes, mushrooms and beans to make it like an English Breakfast. This was roughly £10, similar to UK prices, but worth it.

Interiors
The interiors were luxurious, as they had the traditional European style look. The seats were arranged in different colours, and the table settings were luxurious. As you walk around the restaurant, you had a long table for family or friends with 6 or more people, and then towards the entrance, they had an arrangement for couples or family/friends of 4. Overall, it had a nice look to the restaurant.

I've given the Desert Rose Restaurant a 9.2 out of 10 overall.
Conclusion
I thoroughly enjoyed the breakfast here, as we wanted to have an English breakfast that would fill us up for the majority of the day. The service was good, as it was empty, they had enough time to take our order and gave us time to order, etc. In terms of the price, I thought it was affordable, as it cost us around £15 for both of the items. The experience I thought was great, as I took some videos when it was empty, and we got to sit wherever we wanted. Lastly, the presentation was good, I thought, as the breakfast looked delicious on camera, and the interiors were eye-catching too.
