Located in the centre of Makkah, Cafe Moment provides a calm haven amidst the lively bustle of the city. While the smell of freshly made coffee greets you as soon as you enter. The calming tunes of subtle jazz. The interior design of the café blends historic elements with modern elegance, showcasing rich woodwork and comfortable seating that encourages unwinding.
Cafe Moment Experience
I had to stop by this popular café in the morning while I had some free time. Despite the fact that I had seen it several times online, it piqued my interest. This cafe is located on the second floor of the Clock Tower, accessible via the escalators. You can smell the freshly baked food and teas the moment you step in. You are allowed to sit wherever you choose, as long as it is not overcrowded. Fortunately, even during the Hajj Season, it was rarely busy, so I escaped that experience.
I was able to acquire one of the best seats in the house, near a window facing the Masjid Al Haram. Although the service was a little delayed, you had to walk to the counter to place your order by scanning the QR code on the table after choosing your dish. The café's menu has dishes that highlight both local specialities and international favourites. The huge windows provide a magnificent view of downtown, giving an ideal setting for introspection or thought-provoking discourse.
Whether you are a local or a traveler looking for a break. This café offers a welcoming environment in which to pause, savour, and relish life's simple pleasures. You can also view caged birds. Perfect for children to play with.
What I Ordered:
- Special French Toast 65 SA (£13)
- Matcha Latte 20 SA (£4)
- Ice Caramel Latte 27 SA (£5.50)
Special French Toast
This was something different and presented well. Very aesthetic and pleasing for the camera. As you would expect it tasted pretty sweet and heavy. The dish was picturesque with a view of Haram. However, the pricing was similar to UK prices.
French Toast with cubes with chocolate pour, and fruits garnished.
Cafe Moment Matcha Latte
The "Matcha Latte" is a healthful beverage that always comes to mind when having brunch. The beverage is renowned for its silky smoothness and deep, earthy flavour that is expertly counterbalanced with a hint of sweetness. The matcha latte's vibrant green hue and enticing scent contribute to its allure, offering a visual and tactile delight.
Ice Caramel Latte
The Ice Caramel Latte, was a choice for on the go, as it was scorching hot in Makkah. Therefore, I was craving for something cold and refreshing to walk back to my hotel.
Conclusion
Food: 8 out of 10
Service: 6 out of 10
Price: 7 out of 10
Experience: 8 out of 10
Presentation: 10 out of 10
Overall: I’ve given Cafe Moment a 7.8 out of 10.
Having visited here with the thought of capturing the aesthetic-looking dish and café. I thought the French Toast was worthwhile. As it was pleasing to the camera, and tasted pretty good just on the heavy side. Also, it feels as like if you go without having anything beforehand then you would be able to enjoy the dishes.
The service was adequate, as it was not overcrowded. As a result, the food arrived after around 5-10 minutes of waiting. I must admit that the prices were high because each food and drink was comparable to those available in London. Regardless, the experience and presentation were excellent. As I got what I desired and departed without interruption, etc.
Its varied environment and diverse menu make it a popular place for a variety of eating experiences. Cafe Moment is a must-visit for everyone looking for an unforgettable dining experience. So, the next time you're in Makkah, make time to stop by Cafe Moment and appreciate all they have to offer.
