Hana Cafe Frankfurt Review: Top Spot for Brunch

If you're visiting Frankfurt and searching for the ideal brunch place or a trendy cafe to relax in, Hana Cafe is a name you'll hear a lot, and with good reason. Nestled close to the major train station. Hana Cafe, a popular hangout in Frankfurt, combines Japanese minimalism, Middle Eastern breakfast, and Instagram-worthy decor. Whether you have a sweet or savoury tooth, they cater to everybody, and the cuisine is pretty damn amazing.

Hana Cafe welcomes you with a warm yet modern ambience from the moment you walk in. The pastel colour scheme, soft lighting, and carefully designed decor create a welcoming, peaceful ambience. Whether you're there to work on your laptop, catch up with friends, or simply relax with a quiet coffee, the room is meticulously designed to be both functional and beautiful.

What I had ordered:

  • Shakshuka €12.50
  • Creamy pancakes €12.90
  • Matcha £7.90

Shakshuka

Presented with pita bread and hummus on the side and made with fresh tomato-paprika sauce cooked in pans with two organic eggs and chopped cashew nuts. The only thing I was able to finish was the pita and hummus combo, which I enjoyed. Shakshuka is something I've had previously and always liked, but the cashew nuts added here gave it a unique flavour. Since the eggs were warm and had a pleasant, savoury flavour, it was delicious to dip into the pan with the pitta.

Creamy Pancakes

The stuffing of the pancakes was sweet mozzarella cream. accompanied by chopped pistachios and summer fruits. Additionally, you may top your pancakes with brown, maple, or white chocolate syrup. I decided to cover my pancake with brown chocolate sauce.

Although the pancakes' photos turned out beautifully, they were challenging to eat because they were so filling. Although the pancakes tasted good with the chocolate sauce, I struggled with how sweet and decadent they were right after the shakshuka. Finishing seemed like a difficult task. However, since the size is generous for the price, one main course and perhaps a small one would suffice.

Matcha

This was one of their new drinks, not on the menu, but if you ask, they make it. As I saw this on their Instagram page, which got me trying it, as it looked good. Mixed with strawberry and matcha as their main ingredients, blended to become a strawberry matcha latte with ice. A cold drink with matcha, the bulk of the drink, and strawberries at the bottom, mixed. The taste wasn't too bad, as people have been going wild over matcha these days.

Experience

Having visited Frankfurt for the first time, and saw what's good to have. This was right up there, as it was aesthetically pleasing, and the food was just as good, too. As you have lovely pastel colours interiors around the cafe, which was perfect for the gram. When I arrived, there was only a group of people working on one table, as the rest of the tables were not available until later, and a few more people visited. The workers there were lovely and friendly people to speak to. I spent roughly an hour there, as I waited 10-15 minutes for my meal to arrive. Whilst waiting, I took pictures of the pink pastel interiors, which looked Instagrammable with the food.

Conclusion

Food: 9 out of 10
Service: 9 out of 10
Price: 8 out of 10
Experience: 9 out of 10
Presentation: 10 out of 10

Result: I've given this restaurant an 8.8 out of 10.

Overall, my experience was good, as I managed to capture some great photos, and the food was just as good. Although I could not finish the whole of the creamy pancakes. I felt that having one or the other main dish was probably the better option for next time. The service was great, as the people working there were a friendly bunch. Also, the price I thought was reasonable, less pricey than cafes in London. As each dish was around £10. However, the presentation was good as both the dishes were fantastic on camera and looked mouthwatering, especially the pancakes, which were picture perfect.
