Decorum Restaurant Birmingham

Decorum, tucked away in Birmingham's charming Jewellery Quarter, is more than just a restaurant. It's a meticulously crafted sensory experience that includes magnificent decor, first-rate service, and a menu that blends land, sea, and vibrant creativity. As you enter through the discreet entryway behind the parked cars. You will discover an instagrammable decor inside. From the start, a magnificent gold sign leads to glossy black marble floors and towering white marble steps adorned with mirrors, exuding sheer grandeur.

The dining space maintains the luxurious tone with dark hues, dim lighting, floral accents, soft chairs, and gold elements, resulting in a romantic and brooding atmosphere.

Decorum Food

What I ordered:

  • Decorum Signature Steak £33
  • Skin on Fries £6
  • Passionfruit Mojito £8

Decorum Signature Steak £33

Sirloin Steak served with signature decorum sauce and seasonal veg. There were plenty of options to choose from their menu. However, this stood out to me as the presentation looked mouthwatering and juicy to indulge. I couldn't wait to tuck in, but first I had to take some photos for my blog and gram. I chose 'Medium' in terms of how it was prepared, as per usual case, it's either too hard to cut or undercooked. This wasn't too bad, as it was easy to cut and dipped with the sauce that came with it.

The Skin on Fries was suggested to me. As they told me, the veg may not be enough and that I should get something on the side. Therefore, I went ahead with it, but they did have mash, onion rings and mac & cheese as options for sides as well.

Passionfruit Mojito £8

Mocktails are usually a refreshing choice, especially with a warm meal. Sipping this was a treat, with a lovely lemon flavour and a variety of summer fruits. Presented with two straws, a slice of lemon, and passionfruit. Although they have a variety of mocktails on their menu, with prices vary depending on the flavour. The prices start from £8 for a Strawberry/Passionfruit Mojito to £12 for the Decorum Signature Mocktail.

Interiors

A luxurious modern setting is ideal for large parties or small groups. The gold interiors make everything look beautiful and ideal for photographs. Combining opulence and luxuriant lighting, any seat at the restaurant will enhance the meal with a backdrop. As you walk around the restaurant, you see gold everywhere, and certain locations have flowers to set the mood.

Conclusion

Food: 9 out of 10
Service: 10 out of 10
Price: 5 out of 10
Experience: 10 out of 10
Presentation: 10 out of 10

Result: I’ve given this restaurant an 8.8 out of 10.

The food was delicious overall, I enjoyed the steak with the sauces provided. The staff kindly gave me an extra sauce complimentary to have along with the steak, since I was visiting for the first time. As I waited for my food to arrive, the drink came within a short space of time. I managed to take pictures and a few videos around the restaurant. Food came after 15-20 minutes, which wasn't too long. Luckily, it was not busy since I was there around 6:30.

The service was wonderful, as they looked after and ensured that the customers were satisfied with their meals, etc. However, the cost is considerably high as my total came to £47 for just these three items. The prices range from £40 to £50 per person, depending on the menu. If you're in a group, it can get expensive.

Nonetheless, I had a pleasant experience and enjoyed my food and drink. I had a look around the restaurant, which is nestled behind an alleyway and sometimes difficult to locate. The experience is enjoyable because the food is presented beautifully, making your mouth water when served.
